The 20 Years Old Tawny, as the other wines of age, are in its essence a product of mastering the blending of the best reserves of the company. ~ It has an amber color and an intense aroma, where its age already marks resinous presence, aromas of pine leaves and cedar, but with strong notes of some very mature fruit, of compote and honey. The harmony and the balance mark the tasting. And being a very soft wine, has a long and very pleasant end. Pale brown color with lots of fading around the rim. A powerful bouquet of toasted nuts, figs and dates poached in molasses. The palate is flavorful and much more subtle than the Barros 10 Year Tawny, dried figs and dates with toasted hazelnut and pistachios. Full-bodied, with lively acidity, weak soft tannins and a very long seductive finish. This is the kind of wine I want to have on a cold winter day by a hot fireplace with a big fat cheese platter and a couple of friends.
