Described as light, sweet and fruity the Knockando 12 year old is still a serious single malt whiskey with a great heritage. As well as its great taste qualities it is also very well priced making the Knockando 12 year old a Scotch that"s kind on the palate and the purse. A very popular whisky with our customers.This Knockando 1999 12 year old single malt whisky was distilled in 1999 and bottled at 12 years old at 43% Knockando is an old distillery being founded in 1898 (Knockand is gaelic for Little Black Hill) becoming part of the Gilbey empire which in turn by amalgamation became IDV who doubled the stills from 2 to 4. Appearance: Pale amber. Nose: Fruity-floral with a hint of blackcurrant. Some ash, then a trace of damp linen. Water brings up cereal notes and meaty aromas. Develops towards scorched paper. Body: Light  Palate: Light mouthfeel, pleasantly sweet, central palate. Drying lightly
