This wine is a blend of Merlot and Montepulciano grapes, grown on the steep hills of Clevedon which are similar to the hills of Abruzzo on the Adriatic. Full and mellow, this wine is ideally suited to pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes but most definitely to be enjoyed with friends.The 2005 growing season was excellent and this has been translated into a wonderful wine of nice complexity and concentration. The nose is warm, slightly earthy, fruit touched and complex, while the taste impact is warm and mildly fruitful with a core of flavour. Mid palate has some berry fruit moments, a lick of bay leaf and some gentle grip that adds texture to its earthy warmth. Easy paced wine that fades nicely away with a warm, gentle tail of flavour.
