This is serious, sensual red wine. Great balance, beautiful fruit integration with berryfruits and mocha characters to the fore. This wine will cellar very, very well. YCR Cabernet Merlot was produced from 100% Waiheke Island grown grapes, hand-picked and carefully crafted into this fine blend; aged in oak barriques for one year. The YCR label has been created and launched by Waiheke winemaker Michael Wood, who is involved in winemaking under the following labels: “Goldwater Goldie”: their premium Red “Obsidian” “Weeping Sands” “Black Glass” “Island Red” “Island White” and his own “Yellow Clay Road”.
