Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from Marlborough are treated to the most gentle pressing before being assembled into a cuvée. The wine then spends 2-3 years en tirage (cellaring on lees). This classy Kiwi has enjoyed unprecedented success. Traditional Champagne methods take the crisp, cool fruit of New Zealand to another realm. It's a delicate and harmonious style, with intense citrus and macaroon flavours, with a slightly sweet and lingering finish. Stunningly fresh, full and satisfying bubbles. Deutz Marlborough Cuvee was formed as the result of an historic partnership between Montana Wines in the Marlborough district of New Zealand and Champagne Deutz in France. Deutz marries the best of New Zealand grapes with traditional French Champagne-making techniques, resulting in an award-winning new world Cuvee that was declared the Australasian Sparkling Wine of the Year in the 30th annual Winestate Wine Awards. It is pale gold in colour with a slight bronze tint and has rich, toasty lees complexity.
