Ballantine"s Finest Blended Scotch Whisky contains no less than 57 malts which include Allied owned Miltonduff and Glenburgie. A light gold color. Hints of spice on the nose and a well rounded body. The taste is well balanced with tones of chocolate, apple and vanilla, with a floral finish.
The Dumbarton plant is locally renowned for its "Scotchwatch" burglar alarm, consisting of 100 odd noisy geese!
In 1827 George Ballantine set up a grocer’s shop in Cowgate, Edinburgh and began supplying whiskies to his customers. In 1865, when he opened a larger store in Glasgow, he began experimenting with making his own blends and the Ballantine’s brand was born.
